that's right. i have become one of them...one of those who has fully embraced the world of harry potter. no, no...contrary to what some said in the height of their popularity, the books in no way change my religious beliefs or cause me to want to practice magic or any other silliness that some might associate with the books.
the books do, on the other hand, keep me quite compelled to follow the lives of harry, ron, hermoine, and the other students and teachers through their years at hogwarts (this is actually the link to the upcoming universal studios harry potter-themed park). i am currently on the third book and it is by far the best (in my opinion) of the first three. i feel strongly that i will be caught up in plenty of time for the newest movie to arrive in theaters later this summer. lee is beside himself with the fact that i am growing to enjoy them more and more with each book. he was right...i did not know what i was missing.
due to work and school, this is essentially the only reading i am doing at the time (that i enjoy). it sure beats anything out of here . yuck.

take me out to the ballgame
today is a great day in our house. more like, today is a great day for lee and i am the supportive wife. but i embrace this role, really (hence this post). today marks the beginning of college baseball. that's right ladies and gentlemen, it is time to head to the ballpark and settle in for the next few months.
so whe
ther we are watching the aggies on via the internet or watching alabama live and in person, just because lee secretly enjoys cheering on the tide loves baseball THAT much, we will be fully invested in baseball for the next few months.
oh and don't think i forgot major league baseball! no. no. nothing compares to the chicago cubs in our house people. in fact, i am curren
tly in the virtual waiting room (who knew there was such a place?!) on their website to purchase our tickets for this summer. i have been waiting for an hour and a half so unfortunately virtual does not mean fast. here's to hoping i get in and purchase the tickets before the day is over!
**update** after 4 hours...i got the tickets :)

friends
isn't this a good looking group?! i guess technically it would be even better if the few ladies who are outside the picture were around the table at this time too. and no, i'm not leaving the guys out. they are also a great group of guys who are wonderful husbands to their wives and just a fun group of people to be around. in fact, they were letting the ladies go first as we served our super bowl dinner during halftime sunday night.
now for the two people who might read this, you may be wondering who these wonderful people are. well the picture shows about half of our amazing Sunday school class. amazing is really an understatement. over the past few months, we have grown to love our class even more as we have watched it grow in numbers and relationships. we have wonderful new friends in all of these couples and get to share our hearts as we listen to their hearts every Sunday morning (well, the Sundays we are in town). harvey & debbie edwards are our faithful leaders. they encourage us week after week through the example they set in their marriage and the lessons they share.
this is just a little way to say to express our gratitude and love for our new friends. we are already sad that we have to leave you in a few months.
