my very first aggie football game

that's right. i finally attended a football game at a&m! after two midnight yells, a basketball game, and a baseball game, i was able to have the football experience in college station.

a big thanks goes to the garretts again for the tickets to the game. we got to enjoy the game with katy and jason, cara, & ainslee who are friends of lee's i had not had the chance to meet yet. a&m actually played uab which made it more fun for me because it was an alabama team. no, i didn't cheer for uab...i was excited to see the aggies pull out another win. we left after the last aggie touchdown, and not because we had an almost-two-year-old with us. she would have made it long past all of us because her mom was super-prepared with gametime snacks while the rest of us were starving. (thank goodness for chick-fil-a)

fun times are always had in college station. i have decided if i can't go to tuscaloosa on gamedays as often as i would like, at least we have another fun college town nearby!

check the crazy big student section! they are pretty serious about supporting their team.
i snapped a shot of the sky over kyle field as the sun was going down...cool, huh?!
a shot of the corps/band at halftime. more importantly, a shot displaying our awesome seats. row 11!

the best show you're not watching...or maybe you are

i try not to get too crazy with the number of shows i regularly watch, but i decided to officially add a new one this fall.

i, no we, greatly enjoy The Biggest Loser! lee pretends he does not like that fact that the show can make you all emotional by the end, and he says he only watches it because i do. however, i know the truth, and i know he enjoys the show too.

for the past couple of seasons, i have been an inconsistent viewer, only catching it when i happen to stumble across it while channel surfing. but this year i was ready and committed. if you are not watching it, you should. aside from the contestants' stories, i love that the trainers include practical weight-loss and fitness tips for the viewers. plus, i love seeing jillian yelling at someone besides me while i do her 30 Day Shred.

tuesday nights. 7pm. nbc. watch it. i'm pretty sure you'll love it too. or do you already?

in the land of no humidity...

you can find three of our nephews, their mom and dad, and much cooler temperatures than we have here in houston.

it had been a year since we had been to see ben, shauna, elijah, sam & asher in missouri so we felt a trip was definitely needed. plus, we love seeing family whenever we have the opportunity! as always, we packed as much as we could into our short time there: bubbles, baseball, and bacon-wrapped smokies, andy's frozen custard and apple cider from starbucks, and star wars legos, sausage-cheese muffins, and stroller walks.

we loved our great conversations with ben and shauna. we can't wait to see everyone again during the holidays!

tuscaloosa comes to houston

labor day weekend was not only the first weekend of college football, but it also brought our great friends adam & coriell from tuscaloosa! when lee & adam get together, they are like two little kids on the playground...so excited to see each other and running off to play together until it is time to go home, or in their case, time to go back to tuscaloosa. the best part about their visit was that it was a surprise for adam who did not find out about the trip until lee called him as they were on their way to the airport!

we kicked off the weekend with dinner at pappasito's (of course!) followed by a trip to college station for a little midnight yell. we followed lee's lead and did some swaying and some yelling for the aggies even though we were a little unsure about it all at times.
saturday the boys went back to college station for the a & m game, and coriell and i explored the galleria. i think we were starting to get delirious from hunger and thirst (and sleep deprivation from the night before, i.e. midnight yell) by the time we found the everything-is-bigger-in texas store and a certain orange foam hat. all coriell wanted was a houston ornament but it somehow turned into the pictures you see below. we paid a visit to the water wall and made it back to watch the bama game (roll tide). thank you espn/abc for nationally-televised games, thank you kroger for selling the chips and salsa that became our gametime snack, and thank you to the garretts for giving lee & adam free tickets to the a & m game.
we filled our last full day with brunch at le peep, an astros game, and one more visit to the water wall. adam & coriell were able to experience their first major league baseball game which just so happened to also be a win for the astros.

our last stop before taking them back to the airport monday (boo) was to get our free chicken sandwiches from chick-fil-a of course! we all represented a different team and enjoyed one last meal together in houston before sending them back to tuscaloosa. we can't wait to see you guys again! we had a great time!
