christmas 2008

our first Christmas together was filled with family and fun. we spent the weekend before Christmas with lee's family in calhoun, louisiana and a few days, including Christmas eve, with lindsey's family. watching everyone, especially the kids, opening presents was fun but more than that, just spending time with our families is what we love more than anything. cheesy, maybe. but it's true.

louisiana included the kids' ornament swap, the siblings and spouses dirty santa, the long-awaited continuation of the jack hayes memorial football game, and great hang-out time with extended family

in prattville, we watched a movie with lindsey's parents, finished up some last minute shopping, did some Christmas cooking, and opened presents with everyone

we carried on a few of our own traditions as we enjoyed Christmas day just the two of us...watching home alone Christmas eve, eating cinnamon rolls for breakfast christmas morning, and going to the theater for a Christmas day movie. i even cooked a brand new meal for our Christmas day lunch that we both enjoyed. we look forward to adding our own traditions to all of these in the years to come.
