we can officially say that we have been to the Houston Rodeo now. who knew that at some concerts the opening acts would be steer wrestling, bull riding, covered-wagon racing, and cattle-chasing?! only at the rodeo, my friends. only at the rodeo. we also got to witness firsthand what "mutten bustin' " is after hearing about it for a month on ksbj...cute but very strange name.
watching the part of the rodeo we did see definitely brought back memories of going to the rodeo as a child with my aunt, uncle, and granddad. sadly, the rodeo clowns in houston don't have anything on the ones i used to watch in montgomery.the real reason for our attendance to the rodeo was not so much for the rodeo events themselves, but to see BRAD PAISLEY. our awesome friends chris and bethany were so kind to invite us along, and we had a great time hanging out with them and learning all about the rodeo from the experts. (plus we might have learned some shortcut ways through houston to avoid crazy traffic, but we are sworn to secrecy on that.)
brad paisley put on an AWESOME show. seriously, the guy can tear up a guitar (well, make that about 5 guitars)! and, he seems to really enjoy the fans. he spent a lot of time off the stage and up close and personal with the front row fans. he also has sooooo many great songs that his set list was great but still could not include them all.
and for all of you non-country fans, even lee, who is the king of non-country fans, thoroughly enjoyed himself at the concert and admitted to liking brad paisley even more now. so don't make fun until you give it a chance. the dude, brad not lee, can write a witty song and play a guitar until his pick wears down.
by the way, can i just say again how thankful i am that we could invest in a camera like this? i would never have been able to take the kind of shots i took without it!
