although this is "our blog", i do the posting.

i grew up in prattville, alabama.  in fact, i lived in alabama for 23 1/2 years until we moved to texas in summer 2009.

i am a graduate of the university of alabama (twice).  i love alabama football, even living in tx...ok, especially living in tx after last year!

i completed my first year of teaching in may.  after thinking i would never go the way of teaching (even though my undergraduate degree is in secondary education), i accepted the opportunity to teach after job searching for several months last summer.  it was a great decision and an extremely valuable experience.  teaching high school math gives me a heart for those who struggle, both in math and in difficult life situations.  my desire is to make some sort of difference in the lives of students, even if only for a moment one day out of the whole year.

i enjoy traveling, shopping, spending time with family and friends, saving with coupons and great deals, sweet tea, writing and receiving letters in the mail, and photography.
