headin' out west

after loading up the penske truck on friday, we loaded the jeep on the trailer and headed out of tuscaloosa on saturday, may 30. sadly, i did not get a picture of the trusty moving truck and trailer, but i can say with complete confidence (because we followed behind it for over six hours) that both kept our belongings safe and sound.

i did, however, get a picture of the awesome tire blowout we had saturday morning somewhere in mississippi. no worries, i handled my first blowout with flying colors. i calmly moved to the shoulder, called my husband, and my sister and i enjoyed the fun that comes with being stuck on the side of the road. thirty minutes later, lee and tyler caught up with us, and lee changed this wickedly shredded tire: thankfully that was our only mishap of the entire move.

after a brief stop in calhoun, la., we embarked on the last leg of the move at 6:30am on sunday, may 31. around 1:00pm, we pulled up to the public storage site in kingwood, tx to unload our lives into a climate-controlled cube that upon first appearance seemed no bigger than our former walk-in closet. however, we pulled our resourceful minds together and made it all fit. ladies and gentlemen, this our entire lives packed up in #4142, public storage:

good grief.

last BUT certainly not least, we want to thank rachel and tyler again for helping us with the move. not only did they provide company to each of us in our separate vehicles along the way, but they worked their tails off helping us unload everything. thanks for sacrificing a little sleep and a weekend from home, guys! also, whether he reads this or not, a big thanks goes to adam weeks, as well, for helping us load everything into the truck in tuscaloosa. we could not have done it without you, man!
