go cubs go

last week, katy and i got to see the cubs live and in action here in houston. one of lee's coworkers gave us awesome seats...3 rows from the field!

this was my first time to see the new and improved screen at minute maid...check it out + the cubs star player so far this year. seriously, this dude is batting over 400...right, lee?
the rest of these shots are action shots from the game...just hate i forgot my big lens.

not my favorite picture of me, but the only one of us from the game...

the moving process

my least favorite part about moving is the boxes. packing and unpacking boxes is the worst. i guess the most fun that comes out of the whole process is getting to redecorate and reorganize a house (apartment for us). we are getting settled into our new apartment. we now live in kingwood which is much closer to work than where we were...yay!in the first three days, the kitchen, bathroom, closet, and part of the bedroom have all been unpacked and set up. we still need a few pieces of furniture that will really complete the rest of the space.we get cable and internet tomorrow...big yay! i am currently writing this from the patio area beside our pool where there is free wifi. last night of late-night typing on the humidity-covered laptop!

for a change of pace from moving, we have enjoyed watching the cubs play the astros live and in person the past few nights. i got some great shots as we were able to sit on opposite sides of the field both nights.

go cubs go!

...make that cubs game #2 and cubs win #1 for lee and lindsey

with some last minute planning and ticket-purchasing, we followed up a night in college station watching an a&m game with an evening in arlington to watch the rangers/cubs game on saturday night.

lee has some great friends who will be missed dearly, and i am thankful to have gotten to know them well over the past couple of years, as well. we loaded up with katy, joel, and denton in college station, and headed to arlington to pick up joseph and meet aaron and tiffany.

we saw a few interesting sights while we were on our little excursion. the first of which was this little gem out in the middle of nowhere. can we strange?we also got to witness the giant monstrosity known as the cowboys' new stadium. wow. it looks more like a spaceship than a football stadium to me.the game turned out to be quite entertaining with 4 homeruns, one of which came from the cubs' new superstar starlin castro. i was so proud to capture the shot of the homerun swing!we had a great time with everyone! sorry for the loss, rangers friends!

final vacation recap plus our bonus vacation activity!

because you can never have too many pictures, i thought one more post would complete the vacation review and highlight a few other memorable moments for everyone. be sure to scroll all the way down to see what i got to do for the first time before we left chicago!i failed to mention the wonderful miracle known as a golf cart that we happen to receive the day the guys were gone. the owner of the house kindly offered us his golf cart when he longer needed it, and we were quite thankful for a mode of transportation faster than walking. we went to the beach, pool, and playground on the golf cart, and that was just the first day we had it!ben, elijah, sam, lee, and i took a short journey to south bend one day to visit the campus of notre dame. south bend is also home to the college football hall of fame, which we only saw from the outside, as well as an amazing chocolate shop too amazing for pictures.for the bonus part of the trip, mr joe, lee, and i went to wrigley field! anyone who knows lee for five minutes becomes quickly aware of his devotion to the cubs so you know this was exciting for him especially. i thoroughly enjoyed myself, bought my first cubs shirt, and got a killer sunburn on my kneecaps. lee was saddened by the loss and overall performance of the cubs, but the fans, as well as a certain player's serious mistake (cough, cough milton bradley), definitely made it a worthwhile experience!

take me out to the ballgame

today is a great day in our house. more like, today is a great day for lee and i am the supportive wife. but i embrace this role, really (hence this post). today marks the beginning of college baseball. that's right ladies and gentlemen, it is time to head to the ballpark and settle in for the next few months.

so whether we are watching the aggies on via the internet or watching alabama live and in person, just because lee secretly enjoys cheering on the tide loves baseball THAT much, we will be fully invested in baseball for the next few months.

oh and don't think i forgot major league baseball! no. no. nothing compares to the chicago cubs in our house people. in fact, i am currently in the virtual waiting room (who knew there was such a place?!) on their website to purchase our tickets for this summer. i have been waiting for an hour and a half so unfortunately virtual does not mean fast. here's to hoping i get in and purchase the tickets before the day is over!

**update** after 4 hours...i got the tickets :)
